- Chief engineers discuss the problem of counterfeit
In Volzhsky city (Volgograd region) two-day Forum of chief designers organized by European Bearing Corporation (EPK) together with Bearings Manufacturers Association was opened with support of State Duma of Russian Federation and the administration of the governor and the Government of Volgograd region.
Topic of the event is "Production of bearings in Russia for automobile equipment in new market conditions".
The following enterprises take part in the Design Forum: JSC AvtoVAZ, JSC KamAZ, "GAZ Group", JSC MAZ, RUE "MTZ", JSC BelAZ, Concern "Tractor Plants", MG "Gomselmash".
Participants of the forum will visit Volzhsky Bearing Plant (VBP) being a part of EPK where they will familiarize with production, will estimate all the stages of realization of technological process.
Protection of the Russian market against counterfeit goods becomes one of the topics participants of the Forum plan to discuss. Today in the market of bearings already a large number of counterfeit is noted. According to Andrey Okunkov, Director of sales department (sale of automobile bearings to the conveyor enterprises and secondary market) of JSC TD EPK, car owners are often offered bearings from China giving out them for the known import and domestic brands: "The bearing produced in Europe can't cost cheaper than the Russian one as manpower, power supplies, metal are more expensive in Europe than in Russia and even the most modern equipment can't compensate this difference. But at that cost of the import bearing shouldn't exceed the cost of domestic bearing more than on a third, otherwise the buyer pays only for the brand".
One more aspect of the problem is the increased number of brands on show-windows of the Russian autoshops which have no production base, but order the finished bearings or parts to them in the countries of Asia. So GPZ-34 (34 PZ), GPZ-6 (6 PZ) "rose from the dead" . These enterprises already underwent bankruptcy procedure, part of the equipment is sold out and utilized. Purchasing the bearings of unknown origin results in that the consumer subjects itself to risk of contingencies for repair of wheel nave and complete replacement of the bearing on the better one. Cost of the repeated repair, as a rule, exceeds a difference of the saved money when purchasing the bad quality production.
